Eco-Friendly PEVA Shower Curtain Liner PVC-FREE This shower curtain liner is friendly to the environment while being a great asset to your bathroom. The mold and allergy resistant liner is chlorine free and odorless, thanks to the blended PEVA material. It also has rust-resistant, reinforced grommets and a weighted bottom hem, offering sturdiness and ease of use. 100% PEVA vinyl. Measures 70" W x 72" L (177.8 cm x 182.88 cm). Will fit most standard shower stalls. Wipe clean regularly. Will survive washing machine cleaning on gentle cycle. The liner is translucent (clear). Why PVC is bad news: Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is unique in its high chlorine and additives content, which makes it an environmental poison throughout its life cycle. Vinyl chloride is a known human carcinogen. PVC releases dioxin and other persistent organic pollutants during its manufacture and disposal and cannot be readily recycled due to it chlorine and additive content. Furthermore, additives are not bound to the plastic and leach out.

I finally found a liner without that PVC smell. You know, that heavy plasticize stink when you open almost any home item these days.

This one fits great in my shower stall. It lasts a long time and I put it in the washing machine when its dirty, just like directions say.

I wish more products were made like this one.

Anything marked EVA or PEVA is affirmation that toxins aren't being emitted in the air or anywhere. I specifically purchased this shower liner for this reason, and love it even more because it can be washed in the washing machine. Based on these 2 points, I give it a 5-star.

A couple things that took it to a 4-star:

1- There was an initial slight plastiky smell. Don't know what to think of it. With the PEVA marking, I assume that plastic I was smelling wasn't/isn't harmful?

2- I remember reading in previous reviews that the shower liner blows into the shower and makes contact with your skin. I must say that it does come super close. However, keep in mind, I am rather small, so if you are bigger than average, or maybe even average, this could be an issue for you. What I recommend is getting one of those shower rods that curve for the purpose of providing you more space in the shower.
