This shower rod is 60 inches long and it does not telescope like most shower rods. Bottom line is you only have the ability to adjust it by about an inch (tops) so you will want to measure before you buy.

This is a high quality shower rod. The brushed nickel finish is nicely done, and it will have a place of hard work in our new bathroom. We decided to go with a shower curtain due to the pain of washing shower doors but wanted something that would look nice. This is easily cut to fit.
THIS IS A ONE YEAR UPDATE. The finish is holding up great, and although I was worried about it losing tension and slipping, it is just as tight and sturdy in fit as when I put it up a year ago.

This shower rod works smoothly. I bought this rod to for a 2 foot application and it worked great. You can cut the rod to whatever length you need, then twist the tightening adjustable end to tighten the rod in the opening. The advantage to using this type of rod is there is no annoying transition in the middle of the rod like most twist/tension type shower rods have. This seam or transition that most shower rods have often make it difficult for the shower curtain to slide smoothly across.
