That was the reason I purchased it. I don't have a lot of space in my tub for those little things like razors, bars of soap, small tubes of conditioners from hair dye and other items the could go down the drain. These pockets are great for these items. I put it over another shower curtain that I already had because this was clear and I was buying it for the pockets. There would be no privacy if this is the only shower curtain that is up so I'd suggest getting a shower curtain liner unless that isn't an issue for you. It doesn't come with any liner nor does it say it does.
