Kikkerland 20,000 Leagues Shower Curtain, 72-Inch by 72-Inch

Be forewarned: this item is really more of a fluorescent green, almost fluorescent yellow. It makes the design a bit harder to take in, and sure wakes you up first thing in the morning. You'll never have trouble finding your shower again. Plus, if you cut out a hole for your head, it'll make a highly visible emergency poncho. So...two points for disaster preparedness.

Another con: It's about double the thickness of a disposable plastic tablecloth. The loopholes are just thicker vinyl, so if you grab it to catch your balance it looks like it might tear. I don't generally swing from my shower curtain, but if you do, FYI, you're going to need a different curtain.

I don't think I would have bought this if I'd seen it in person, but I bought a vintage "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" poster, so I'm kind of committed at this point.

The shower curtain is even brighter in person than it is in photos. It is a cool design, but the material seems of a lower quality in that it is very thin. In effect, you're paying a premium for the style - so, if you don't mind style over substance and can be careful not to damage the curtain, this may well be worth it. As another reviewer noted, there is a strong fragrance when opening the package, but note that this is the same "new plastic" odor you'd experience with like products.

This shower curtain is super cute. Yes, it did give off a crazy smell when we first opened it but we hung it over a chair on the porch for a day and it was fine. Lots of nice comments from our guests!
